Join me for a fun and creative class where we’ll make the perfect dual-purpose Undercover/Maker Mat for your sewing machine!

This beginner-friendly project features double pockets and a removable thread catcher to keep your favorite notions close and your workspace neat. The mat sits neatly under your machine during use and doubles as a cover when you’re done sewing, with side ties to keep everything secure. We’ll play with fun straps or selvages for the pockets, and explore a few small foundation paper-pieced designs to personalize your project. Come create something both beautiful and incredibly useful!

Supplies Needed:

• Two 20”x23” panels, one for the front and one for the back. 
• Two 20”x23” batting
• 11-15 selvage’s measuring 10” wide by at least 1.25 “ thick. 
• Fusible fleece 20”c 5.25”, shape flex interfacing, 12”x12”.
• Fabric for pockets pieces, and thread catcher.
• Pocket panel binding 1.75”x21”.
• Main binding three strips 2.25”x WOF.
• Three pieces of fabric for the pocket panel measuring5.5” long by About3/8 wide.
• One piece of fabric for the thread catcher decoration measuring 6” wide.
• One piece of fabric for thread catcher hang tab measuring3” long.
• Four pieces of fabric for the side ties measuring12” each.
